Giving at Independent Schools

Independent schools are non-profit institutions that rely on tuition and donations, rather than government funding, to operate. The best independent schools in the country try to keep tuition down by finding other ways to generate revenue, mostly by fundraising. In fact, almost all of these schools have tuition rates that do not cover the actual expense of educating the child. The generosity of the community bridges the gap.
Here is the lowdown on the different types of fundraising at Annie Wright. These are common to most independent schools and universities as well as many other non-profit organizations.

Annual giving through Gators Give is an opportunity to support our school and students every year. Thousands of alumni, friends and community members sponsor excellent education, inspire teachers to dream big for your children, and bolster our iconic institution.
  • Auction

The auction is a fabulous party held annually. The proceeds from this event supports the Schools’ budget and also fund a special project through a dedicated “Fund-A-Need."
  • Campaign

A campaign is a periodic effort to raise substantial resources to address a particular need and/or the general growth and sustainability of the Schools.
