    Annie Wright teachers work continuously to know their students: who these children are; where they come from; what knowledge and skills they bring with them, and how they learn. Knowing our students as people and as learners lies at the very heart of the Annie Wright Schools educational experience.
  • Teachers set and communicate high expectations.

    Teachers set and communicate high expectations for the success of all the students they teach. Teachers demonstrate an understanding of best practices in differentiated, inquiry-based, academically rigorous instruction.
  • Teachers demonstrate initiative.

    Teachers demonstrate initiative as they continually develop knowledge of content areas as well as of changes in methodology, technologies and best practices of education. They demonstrate a vibrant commitment to growth and development as educators and exemplars of life-long learning. Teachers actively reflect upon their practice and use that reflection to improve their teaching.
  • Teachers incorporate the IB Learner Profile into the classroom.

    As IB learners we strive to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective. These ten attributes comprise the Learner Profile, which is valued by all International Baccalaureate World Schools.
  • Teachers involve themselves in the life of the community.

    Annie Wright Schools’ strong commitment to community is modeled by active teacher involvement in the life of that community in and out of the classroom, participating in activities, service or committee work designed to improve the Schools’ ability to carry out its mission.
