On Saturday February 27, the Commencement Bay Music Educators Association held it's annual Solo and Ensemble festival for Middle and High School musicians in Tacoma. Both the Annie Wright Schools Upper and Middle School Orchestras performed without conductor for an adjudicator and many individual students performed solos as well. All of the Annie Wright Schools players received Excellent or Superior ratings.

Blue Tie Class of '16 Crystal Zheng, clarinet, playing the Poulenc Clarinet Sonata and Yellow Tie Class of '17 Aurora Hake, violin, playing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto also won top placement honors in the region for their instruments and will go on to the State Solo and Ensemble Contest at Central Washington University on April 30.
