Thunderstorms couldn't dampen the spirit, drive and talent of Team Gator in yesterday's You Go Girl race, which benefits the Pierce County YWCA. Some 30 Annie Wright faculty, staff, parents, students, alumni and board members ran in the 10K and Half Marathon races, and our results were most impressive.
The 10K had 492 finishers, with an average time of 1:14:53. Upper School Social Studies Teacher
Bridgette McGoldrick came in 2nd overall with an outstanding time of 45:29. She was closely followed by Upper School Spanish teacher
Emily Stokes, who was 7th overall and 2nd in her division, Alumni Director
Shannon Grant, who was 13th overall and 3rd in her division, and Day School alumnus
Greg Howell, who was
17th overall and 1st in his division. Other strong finishers include Annie Wright parent
Angela Bates and Assistant Director of Annual Fund and Events
Alicia Hinckley, who were both third in their divisions, and Annie Wright parent Karen Donahue, who was 4th in her division. Special shoutout to 10-year-old
Merryn Coumou who ran with her mom, nurse Paula, and came 8th in her division.
The Half Marathon had 321 finishers with an average time of 2:21:14. Library Media Specialist
Joe Romano came 3rd, with a remarkable time of 1:34:14. He was closely followed by Middle School English and Social Studies teacher
David Gardner, who was 6th, and Admissions Associate
Trisha Fintel, who was 13th overall and 1st in her division. Shoutouts also to Head of Schools
Christian Sullivan, who was 3rd in his division, and Upper School Red Tie Class of '14 student
Aquene Kimmel, who was 2nd in her division.
