Annie Wright students jump rope for heart

Annie Wright students, faculty and parents participated in the annual Jump Rope for Heart on February 3, 2012. The event raises funds for the American Heart Association and promotes nutrition, fitness and fun. Parent volunteers provided snacks of fresh fruit, while students and teachers took shifts at jumping rope throughout the day in the Kemper Gym.

The goal for this year was to raise $9,000, breaking the record set in 2011 of $8,744. Totals for 2012 are still being tallied. Prior to this year's campaign, since 1993, Annie Wright School has raised a total of $131,451 for the American Heart Association.

Special thanks to second grade teacher George Solomon, AWS parent Collette Bailey, and all of the parent volunteers who help organize this important day.
