Scholar Search Weekend 2012

Scholar Search Weekend (SSW) was held at Annie Wright on Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28, 2012. SSW is an annual admissions event open to girls in grades eight through ten who are interested in attending the Annie Wright Upper School. This year, an impressive group of 57 candidate students attended from as far away as China, England, Canada, seven states, and 28 cities throughout Washington! Seventeen of our current eighth grade girls were also in attendance.

Over the course of the weekend, the girls participated in classroom visits, math and writing assessments, a case statement analysis, group interviews, bowling, a sleepover in the Great Hall, and, of course, the infamous Lip Sync contest! Talent workshops were offered in visual arts, music, athletics, community service, filmmaking, theatre, and creative writing/journalism. Opportunities to earn merit scholarships were also available. Campus tours and a parent reception were held on Saturday.

The admissions office would like to thank all of our Scholar Search Weekend 2012 attendees, prospective parents, and faculty and staff members for their hard work and effort over the course of the weekend. It was a very successful event that could not have been accomplished without you!
