Head Search Update

A Message from Jeff Greene, Chair, Head Search Committee:

Last week the Annie Wright School community hosted initial visits for three candidates who are interested in the position of Head of School, which will begin this next academic year. On October 27, 28 and 29 we will host initial visits for five additional candidates.

The purpose of the initial visits is, in part, to orient the candidates to the Annie Wright School community. Initial visits also provide an opportunity for the Head Search Committee to conduct preliminary interviews. While the candidates are here, please take the opportunity to welcome them and, if you wish, provide informal feedback either to one of the committee members or to one of your focus group representatives.

After the visits, the Head Search Committee will evaluate all of the candidates and select two or three finalists who will be invited to return for the formal interview process. Upon their return visit, the finalists will participate in a full series of meetings with various focus groups of the AWS community. At that time, all groups will be asked to provide reaction and feedback. When all finalists have been interviewed, the Head Search Committee will make a selection from among the finalists and present their recommendation to the Board of Trustees.

The Head Search Committee acknowledges the impact on the community to have five additional candidates, and we thank you for your flexibility and graciousness. We are fortunate that so many qualified candidates are interested in this wonderful opportunity, and your snapshot of the school makes a difference.
