Gator Arts, December Update

This November marked the first conclusion of After School Arts programming for Lower and Middle School and culminated with an inaugural Fall Arts Festival. Celebrating the work of nearly 100 student pursuits across an impressive range of artistic disciplines, we delighted in a joyful sharing with friends and family in the form of art galleries, performances of dance and improvisation, original play pitches, testing out game design prototypes, and more. We can't wait for the Winter Festival in February!

Student musicians also took center stage in November arts programming with individual recitals and ensemble music concerts. With over 50 solo performances in piano, strings, voice, flute, and trombone - plus skilled and resonant demonstrations from Upper School Orchestra, Chorus, and the new "Rock Cat Band" - the Great Hall is once again humming with music.

Included in the Upper School Music Concert was the announcement of the 2021-2022 cohort of Music Laureates. Congratulations to Joshua B. ’23,  EJ C. ’24, Brayden H. ’25, Gabriel M. ’23, Courtney S. ’22,  Zile "Lily" Y. ’23 and Sasha Z. ’23, who have been selected to be supported in developing new pieces or compositions through mentorship, funding and a featured concert in February 2022.
