In so many ways, the Annie Wright you remember from your days here remains very much the same. We continue to take pride in our 130-year continuous history. We still define ourselves as a pioneering institution. We honor our traditions almost as a sacred trust.
Yet, we are also moving forward. We have become Annie Wright Schools in order more clearly to separate our coed Lower and Middle School (now the Day School) from our girls’ only Upper School. We anticipate becoming one of only 14 schools in the nation to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes at all three levels.
We celebrate record enrollment in our Upper School, with 180 students from 14 countries and 14 states. Our boarding department is at capacity. Internationally, nationally and locally, Annie Wright is increasingly recognized as a distinctive and excellent educational institution, one that you can be very proud to call your alma mater.
As alumni, you continue to play an essential role in the life of the schools. We have become the institution we are today on the shoulders and accomplishments of the many students who have made us better. We need to hear from you; we need to preserve the many stories of our past so that current and future Annies understand the proud legacy.
We urge you to visit campus, to see the ways in which the schools remain what you remember and simultaneously represent a vibrant future. The alumni relations department looks forward to meeting you and to hearing YOUR Annie Wright stories. With your involvement and support in the current life of Annie Wright, we will continue with confidence to move “From Strength to Strength.”
