Yesterday, President Xi Jinping of China and his wife Peng Liyuan visited Tacoma, one of several stops on a tour of the area which includes a technology forum and dinner with Bill Gates in Seattle. In Tacoma he visited Lincoln High School, and Head of Schools Christian Sullivan and 25 Annie Wright students attended the event.

Our students included Chinese nationals, students of Chinese language, or students who are directly engaged in global affairs. Most other local schools had around three representatives as compared to our 25.

Xi previously visited Tacoma in 1993, when he was a local politician in Fuzhou, China.
