AWS Volleyball Players Qualify for National High Performance Program Teams
Yellow Tie Class of 2017 volleyball players Britnie Casillas and Annika Cederstrand both qualified for pre-Olympic training programs in association with Team USA.
Britnie qualified for the USAV Youth Continental Team Program, which takes only up to 33 athletes nationwide, as well as the Youth National A2 Invitational Team, which takes 128 players. Annika played through an injury to earn a place as an alternate on the A2 team and a spot on the A3 National Training Porgram. The teams gather across the country during the summer for international tournaments, intensive training and the opportunity to prove their talents to a number of high level college recruiters.
