Grade 2 Student Steven Imke Competes at State Wrestling Championship
Lisa Isenman
Grade 2 student Steven Imke, a first year wrestler, competed at the Washington State Wrestling Association folkstyle state championships last weekend at the Tacoma Dome. He wrestled strongly but conceded in the first round to the Oregon State champion. Though he did not place this year, he appreciated the honor of wrestling at such a high profile venue.
To prepare for the state tournament, Steven worked out 2-3 hours a night 3-4 days a week for the last 4 months. Despite being new to wrestling, he ended the season with a record of 9 losses and 16 wins. Congratulations Steven - Annie Wright Schools are very proud of you!
