Annie Wright turns 130 this year, and the Schools celebrated at Founder's Day on Friday, January 17. Rather than commemorating the actual date the school was established, Founder's Day honors the birthday of Annie Wright founder John Adams Paddock, Bishop of Western Washington. Celebrations included the traditional Founder's Day cake for the seniors and a special chapel with former Mayor of Tacoma and current president of the Tacoma Historical Society Bill Baarsma as guest speaker.

Kate Dorr '96, chair of the Annie Wright traditions committee, has put together a display in honor of Founder's Day and Annie Wright's 130th birthday. The display, in the Annie Wright Library until the end of February, celebrates the first and last 25 years at Annie Wright.
