On February 13 eight AWS teachers attended the conference "Making Best Use of iPads and Other Cutting-Edge Technology Tools in the WORLD LANGUAGE CLASSROOM." The teachers were Meg Billings, Jenny Graupensperger, Emily Stokes, Maria Kupper, Carolyn Lyson, Nora de Sandoval, Angelica Calcote and Angela Heath. The conference was held in Renton.
"This workshop explored numerous iPad apps that are useful to both students and teachers in foreign language classrooms. I walked away with new ideas about how to use this technology, especially to implement project-based learning experiences for my students," said ESL Director Meg Billings.
The registration costs were paid for from the money allocated to professional development for Learning Support through the 2012 Gator Gala auction Fund-a-Need. Special thanks to the AWS Parents' Association for making this possible.
