On Tuesday, February 19, Ironman triathletes David Cook (an AWS alumnus) and Julie Glade visited the Grade 2 Gators. The students were inspired by their message about the importance of having a healthy mind, body and spirit, dreaming big and setting goals. They learned that they do not fail if they try and they learn, and often the things that they aren't "good at" can become fun when they work on them. They learned about triathlons and training, and the importance of sportsmanship, nutrition, friendship and support. They were able to inspect an awesome racing bike, an aerodynamic helmet, and the gear used by a triathlete during training and competition. Some members of the class are talking with their parents about becoming IronKids!
