AWS sophomore Clare Jeong '14 competed in the 2012 National Long Track Speed Skating Championships on February 25-26 in Roseville, MN and became a record-setting national champion in her age group (15-16 year olds) by winning first place in five events (500 m, 800 m, 1000 m, 1500 m, 3000 m). She set four new US national records in 800 m, 1000 m, 1500 m, and 3000 m, breaking the previous 3000 m record by 10 seconds.

Jeong is currently ranked first in the nation and eighth in the world in her age group following the 2012 Innsbruck Youth Olympic Games in January.
