Grade 4 Launches Unit by Dissecting Sheep Brains
Grade 4 is learning that there are many factors that impact how we learn. Before they dig into the topics of memory, stress, neurological conditions, etc. students need a basic understanding of the anatomy of the brain, so they kick things off by dissecting sheep brains to provoke questions. Students get to explore the cerebrum, cerebellum, brain stem—and more specifically the amygdala, hippocampus and the function of neurons.
