Katherine Christensen Yellow Tie '21 won a Gold Key for her short story, which will go on into the national competition. Laura Barber, Upper School English Teacher shared, "I’m especially impressed by Katherine because she has entered the Scholastic Contest every year since her sophomore year, and for the first two years she won Silver Keys, but this year she won a Gold Key. I love her persistence and fearlessness about asking for feedback and entering writing contests, and this progression from Silver Key to Gold Key shows how powerfully that growth mindset approach can pay off. When Katherine read aloud her story, we were blown away by the imagery and the sophisticated use of language that sounded almost like poetry."
Sofia Guerra Green Tie '23 received a Silver Key for her short story and fellow Green Tie Laynee Resnikoff received Honorable Mention in the memoir category.
