Annie Wright Schools' Blue Ties were honored along with other South Sound high schools in an art display at Titlow Beach to commemorate 2020 graduates. Local artist John James Nelson coordinated the efforts, tasking students from more than a dozen high schools across Pierce County to decorate 3-foot by 3-foot wooden boards. He then created the display along Titlow Beach.

Annie Wright Upper School for Girls Math & Science teacher Maggie Shawver worked 2020 grads Alexandra Bessler, Nina Doody and Nina Ye to represent AWS.

The project developed some positive coverage locally as well.
