Grade 2 Celebrates 60-Year-Old Tradition

Grade 2 students participated in the annual Egg Drop event (a nearly 60-year-old Annie Wright tradition) this morning in the Bamford Commons. Students devoted weeks of work in class learning about physics and choosing materials and designs to create packaging to protect raw eggs.

On this sunny morning, 28 packages were dropped from the tower, and 23 eggs survived. Congratulations to Grade 2 student Charlie Finch and Grade 3 student Sophia DePretis, who both guessed the correct number of suviviors before the event.

Special thanks to Mr. Menke and members of the LS Student Council for Balcony Retrieval Services, Mr. Blanchard and his team for setting up a safe event, Mr. Fallat for Emceeing, Mr. Romano for Releasing Eggs, Mr. Shandrow and Mr. Weiss for Sound, and Mrs. Kukreja, Ms. Bills, Ms. Longenecker, and Mrs. Ball for Container Opening and Egg Damage Assessments.
