New Orchestra Program Director: Dr. Anna Jensen, of Tacoma Youth Symphony Association

While it is sad to announce the departure of longtime strings instructor and orchestra director Stuart Hake, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Anna Jensen, also the Executive Director of Tacoma Youth Symphony, as the 2022-2023 AWS Orchestra Program Director. Dr. Jensen is excited to bring her experience as an accomplished conductor, guest lecturer, and double bass principal and soloist to our Middle and Upper School Orchestras. Additionally, Dr. Jensen’s programmatic expertise will counsel the design and facilitation of Lower School strings instruction, including early violin instruction, junior orchestra, and private strings instruction before and/or after school. Orchestra students and families may watch for an invite for a meet and greet with Dr. Jensen and Director of Arts Annie Green in late August.
