In remembrance: Susan Manger
Susan Manger, Annie Wright teacher from 1981-1994, passed away on Thursday, March 7. Mrs. Manger (also known as Mrs. Gustavson, or Mrs. G) taught mostly in Grade 4, as well as some Middle School classes, and was a member of Annie Wright Schools' Heritage Society. Susan came to Annie Wright after teaching in Alabama. She had two plans: to teach at a great school, and to teach at a great school her children could attend. She did just that, sending her daughter Jodi (Gustavson) Erickson '89 and son Eric Gustavson '88MS to Annie Wright. After teaching at Annie Wright, Susan worked at a hospital helping children who had been through traumatic medical experiences determine how their learning styles would change as they recovered.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16 at 1:30 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church, 26418 Mountain Highway West, in Spanaway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, Annie Wright Schools or Charles Wright Academy. The family asks for those who knew Susan to take a walk in the woods and think of her.
