Spring Sports Highlights: From Strength to Strength

Sixty-two percent of Kindergarten to Grade 12 students participated in a spring sport this season. Here are some highlights:
 
GOLF
Abby Givens, Nina Ye, Paisley Cristobal, and Yoon Ji Kim tee-off Tuesday morning for the State Championship Golf Match @ Hangman Valley Golf Club in Spokane on Tuesday & Wednesday. There are 80 total golfers in the state match, and the top 40 golfers move onto the final round on Wednesday.

TRACK
Anna Haddad, who was 5th place in the 800m last year, will compete in the 800m and 1600m State Championship Track Meet @ Eastern Washington University on Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

TENNIS
Kaitlin Tan is ranked #63 in the entire nation for U16 players! Olivia Andersen and Yayoi Junior will represent the PNW at Nationals this July.

LACROSSE
Coach Holly Drown has 85 Grades 1-8 girls participating in spring lacrosse. The Grades 3 & 4 team finished undefeated. All teams will wrap up with a June 2 tournament at Starfire Complex in Tukwila.
 
MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD
Six new school records this spring include:
  • Anna Parrott: 400m (1:06.6) & 800m (2:38.2)
  • Saul Kontos-Cohen: 100m (12.84), 200m (26.34), & high jump (4’8”)
  • Connor Enebrad: 400m (59.85)
 
LOWER SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD
The Gators hosted three track meets this spring against five local schools. Natalie Blake and Daciana Reyna both ran 800m times that would have placed them 2nd and 3rd in our Middle School league championships. 
 
LOWER SCHOOL FLAG FOOTBALL
The Lower School flag football team finished 3rd out of 16 Tacoma teams and are headed to the Super Bowl Tournament on June 2 and 3, where they’ll play teams from all over Western Washington.
