Freshman Rower Brings Home the Gold
Freshman rower Ava Lorentzen won two gold medals in the women's U17 girls' division with her squad from Vashon's Burton Beach Rowing Club at the Brentwood Regatta on Vancouver Island, BC, last weekend.
The regatta, at Brentwood College School, involved 30 clubs and more than 1,600 athletes. The BBRC, a new club with mostly freshmen rowers, also won a gold medal for the women's U17 double.
