Community Service Leadership Activity Hosts Blanket Drive for Nativity House

Community Service Leadership, an Upper School for Girls activity that researches needs in the Tacoma area and thoughtfully addresses those needs, is hosting a blanket drive in partnership with Nativity House, an organization in Tacoma that helps alleviate the effects of homelessness.

The non-profit provides food, shelter, and medical services. In addition, 50 apartment units are located in the building to provide housing for the chronically homeless and mentally ill.

Before the winter, the organization had over 200 blankets, and now they are down to the single digits. The weather is still very cold, and there is an urgent need for blankets and bedding. Our goal is 250 blankets. This can include new and gently used sheets, bedding, etc.

We are looking for full participation, and to accomplish this it will be a House Cup Competition. The winning house will receive a Civvies Day! The tables are located outside the library by tie color. Please donate between April 16 and 27.
