The Upper School for Boys athletics program addresses physical fitness, team play and good sportsmanship. Our faculty and coaches identify and support each boy’s individual aptitude and skills, whether he is an elite athlete or has never played a team sport. Opportunities both in and out of school will specifically address the athletic goals of each individual.
USB students are required to participate in a PE class or after-school athletics offering every quarter of the academic year. The physical education program integrates exercise into the mornings and afternoons at AWS with options that include fencing, strength & conditioning, general exercise and running club.
AWS is a part of the 6-team Nisqually League and a member of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association
. After-school sports are offered during the fall, winter, and spring seasons and include tennis, cross country, sailing, basketball, fencing, soccer, track & field and golf, with swim team offered in the near future. Team sports that are not offered at Annie Wright Schools are accessible at the students’ resident public school or at Stadium High School for those who board at AWS.
