Summer Athletic Camps at Annie Wright will focus on fun and active sport camps coached by Annie Wright’s very own head coaches. We will offer soccer, swim, basketball, girls’ lacrosse, football, and volleyball.

  • Alex Megson

    Alexander Megson, Head Soccer Coach, joined Annie Wright Schools in 2017. Currently playing with Tacoma Stars, he is a 14-year veteran that has traveled the world representing the United States of America playing soccer and futsal. Alex has directed numerous soccer camps and I.D. Camps in the U.S. helping players develop into competitive athletes and valued citizens. Alex believes in as much hands on experience as possible and that growth and comfort do not co-exist. Alex coaches all four Middle School and Upper School soccer teams, including the Upper School for Girls soccer team, who under him had their best season in Annie Wright Schools' history.
  • Andrew Braunstein

    Andrew Braunstein, Assistant Athletic Director, joined Annie Wright Schools in 2019. Andrew has an educational background in Athletics Administration with a BS in Sports Management and a MS in Athletic Administration. As a former athlete and coach, Andrew is passionate about facilitating a premier student-athlete experience by harboring an environment where students enjoy themselves and achieve their goals through sport.
  • Chris Spivey

    Coach Chris Spivey is entering his fourth year as the Director of Basketball and Upper School for Girls Head Basketball Coach. The Gators have compiled a 56-19 record over the past three seasons including two State Tournament appearances, two league titles, one district title and a 4th place finish at the 2020 State Tournament. Prior to his time at Annie Wright Schools, Coach Spivey helped lead the 3A River Ridge High School Boys’ Basketball team to its first ever State Tournament appearance in the school’s history. Coach Spivey has previously directed successful AAU programs over the past two decades and has assisted a countless number of student-athletes who have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional level. Coach Spivey played collegiate basketball and enjoys everything that the game has to offer and teaching at every level.
  • Dane Wolfrom

    Dane Wolfrom (he/him), Swim Camp Head Coach, joined Annie Wright Schools in 2021. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Hamilton College and a certificate of Strategic Diversity & Inclusion Management from Georgetown University, he has been coaching swimming for over 25 years. Most known for creating fun ways to improve swimming skill and endurance, Dane has been the favorite coach of six national top-sixteen swimmers and three internationally-ranked swimmers over the past two decades.
  • Holly Drown

    Holly Drown joined Annie Wright in 2017 as Lower School PE Specialist and Middle School PHE Teacher. She now serves as Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at University of Puget Sound. After earning her BA in sport management from the University of Massachusetts and playing four years of NCAA lacrosse, Holly coached and taught a variety of fitness disciplines to a range of ages. Prior to joining AWS, Holly was the Lacrosse Program Head at Lakeside School, and prior to that she coached, worked in administration, and taught health education at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As a certified yoga teacher and personal trainer, Holly loves spreading her passion for health and movement.
  • Mike Finch

    Mike Finch, Director of Athletics, joined Annie Wright Schools in 2016. After graduating from Harvard University in 2006 where he played 4 years on the football team as a defensive back, he began teaching math and coaching football at Charles Wright Academy before coming to AWS. Coach Finch loves helping athletes maximize their potential, but supporting them first and foremost in the classroom.
  • Myah Stone

    Myah Stone joined Annie Wright Schools in 2018 as a Lower School PE Teacher. After earning a BA in Physical Activity and Health and pursuing a Master’s in Education, she taught Middle School PE for two years in Federal Way. Myah is committed to providing students with a fun and enjoyable learning environment while providing the necessary knowledge and tools to adhere to a lifetime of activity and better health.

Founded in Tacoma, Washington, in 1884, Annie Wright Schools serve students from age three through high school. Annie Wright Lower  and Middle Schools offer coed programs in Preschool through Grade 8, while separate Upper Schools for girls  and boys offer day and boarding options in Grades 9 through 12.
