Trips & Retreats

Getting off campus to learn, grow, bond, meet new challenges and experience the wonders of the region and the world is an important element of Annie Wright Upper School's program.
Getting off campus to learn, grow, bond, meet new challenges and experience the wonders of the Pacific Northwest is an important element of Annie Wright Upper School's program. Grade 9 students travel to Vantage, Washington for a camping and rock climbing retreat.  Grade 10 students take a road trip around Washington state, visiting dams, our active volcano and other mountains, and the Hanford Nuclear Reserve, among other state sites. Grade 11 students take a three-day tour of colleges and universities.  Throughout the year, faculty and/or student groups spearhead day trips to play in the great outdoors, including kayaking, hiking, biking, skiing and more.

Further afield, Annie Wright offers organized cultural exchange programs to Spain, Argentina and China. These affordable programs provide students the opportunity to host a student in their home and then to live with that student's family or in a dormitory, attend a different school, engage with peers from a different part of the world and immerse themselves in a new culture.
