Upper School Golf Team Wins League Championship
The Upper School golf team celebrated a big win this past week at the 2017 Emerald City League Golf Tournament where they tied for the championship with Forest Ridge. Freshman Abby Givens reigned champion and received All-League Honors along with fellow freshman Yoon Ji Kim.
Coach Mike Givens was awarded the Coach of the Year honor, and the team received the Sportsmanship Award. This award is often given to the last place team, so to be the champion team and receive the Sportsmanship Award speaks of the team’s synergy and uplifting presence.
"I’m proud of my teammates' improvement in their swings and course management," said Abby. "Also, the team is always willing to help out people we are playing against on the course, and we’re really light-hearted about it - if we make mistakes we’re able to laugh about it and try harder on the next shot."
