Senior Annika Cederstrand Commits to University of Wisconsin Track Program

Annika Cederstrand committed to the University of Wisconsin Class of 2021 last week, where she will throw the javelin in the track program. She is the fourth Annie Wright student to commit to a college athletic program.
 
A passionate student and athlete, Annika has competed in track and field at the highest level, becoming the Javelin League and District Champion and placing 7th in the State Championships last spring. She also competes and received multiple awards in Club Volleyball, the High Jump and Shot Put.
 
Outside of athletics, Annika has participated in the AWS Science Team for the past four years and won 1st place in the Earth & Environmental Sciences category at the South Sound Regional Science Fair. She also starred in the school’s production of the hit musical Chicago. Other extra-curricular activities include a part-time job at Ball Auto as a mechanics’ assistant and volunteering for Tacoma Citizens for a Healthy Bay. She aspires to study Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences in college and to compete in the Olympics one day.
