AWS Students Rock Destination Imagination Competition

Three teams of Annie Wright students have qualified for the Washington State Destination Imagination Creative Problem Solving Finals: The Turnip Turtles in the Middle Level Fine Arts challenge, D.I.versity in the Middle Level Scientific challenge, and the DI-sco Sloths in the Elementary Scientific challenge. The Turnip Turtles received the Renaissance Award for performance. The Dabasaurs of Doom placed 5th in the Elementary Fine Arts challenge.

Several members of the AWS community volunteered to train and work as officials for our region. Jean Young is the South Sound Regional Destination Imagination Tournament Director. Amy Longenecker is the Regional Challenge Master for Project Outreach, the Community Service challenge. Melissa Schumacher and Shelby Isham are Appraisers. Chuck Minor babysat his granddaughter all day so that his daughter and son-in-law, Anna Minor-Weeks and Paul Weeks, both veteran Appraisers, could serve at our tournament.
