Annika Christensen Wins Second Writing Award
On February 5, Grade 11 student Katherine Christensen won a Silver Key Scholastic Writing Award in the memoir category. This is the second year in a row that Katherine has won a Scholastic award. Last year her story "The Train Station Bathroom" won in the humor category.
Katherine is part of the after-school Annie Writers activity, in which students develop creative writing skills, participate in workshops with professional authors, attend festivals and write short plays for theatre students to perform. Her fellow writers in the activity helped her fine-tune her award-winning memoir.
