Last May a law passed requiring all public universities in Washington to give college credit to students who earn at least a 4 out of 7 on each of their IB exams. This means that IB Diploma holders can earn a year’s worth of credits. Eight out of 47 Annie Wright Class of ’19 graduates will attend public universities in Washington. The law is also retroactive for students who graduated in 2018.

Many public and private colleges and universities nationally and internationally also grant credit for IB exams, recognizing the exceptional rigor of these courses. Two graduates from the Class of ’17, for example, are on track to graduate in in 2020, after receiving a full year’s worth of credit for their IB courses.

Annie Wright is the only school in Washington and one of fewer than 20 schools in the country that offers the full continuum of IB programming: the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme.
