THE HIGH SCHOOL TRANSITION

Grades 6-8 at Annie Wright Day School are a celebration of individual talents, interests, challenges and quirks. While preparing our students academically and socially for the years ahead, Annie Wright also provides opportunities and resources to help all of our students transition to high school.

CROSS THE COMMONS
During the school day girls in Grade 8 get a taste of Upper School life through classroom visits and lunch off campus with Middle School Alumnae who are current Upper School students. Boys gather with Middle School advisors for a fun outing where they learn about resources and options for high school.

SCHOLAR SEARCH WEEKEND
Girls in Grade 8 from Annie Wright and other schools discover what Annie Wright Upper school is all about with a 24-hour open-house filled with fun activities including the annual Lip Sync performance and a giant slumber party in the Great Hall. Participants also have the opportunity to engage with current Upper school students, compete for merit scholarships and make new friends.

In addition to these events and more, Annie Wright faculty and administrators are available to work with every family individually to guide them through the transition and decision-making process.

We look forward to working with you and your middle schooler in planning for the years ahead.
"Annie Wright helped my son discover what was important to him and then helped our family ask the right questions to his prospective high schools. He made the right choice and was unbelievably prepared."
"My daughter had an incredible experience at Scholar Search Weekend. She is still talking about the amazing workshops and the friends she made there. She now has a much clearer idea of what Upper School is all about."
