Annie Wright Middle School provides students with a sound academic foundation in a supportive environment where structure and routine are balanced with the freedom to explore and develop individually. The Middle School faculty is a dynamic group, passionate about teaching, attentive to students and parents, and knowledgeable of the particular needs of this age group. The curriculum is both inquiry-based and transdisciplinary, and emphasizes the need to write, speak and listen effectively. Students are challenged to think analytically and creatively and are given the opportunity to solve problems and make decisions. Integrity, the recognition of the interrelationships between people, responsible citizenship and a sense of self-worth are important qualities in the Middle School. Students have laptops beginning in Grade 6 because technology is incorporated throughout their coursework. With the help of learning specialists, the faculty addresses individual differences in ability, skill development and learning styles.
