List of 6 items.

  • James Memorial Field

In May, a new, expanded high school regulation-sized all-weather field replaced the former field, which was small and often unplayable due to wet weather and poor drainage. Students of all ages use the field for physical education, playtime, sports practices, competitions and tournaments.

  • 10th Street Entrance Upgrade

Changes to the entrances to the Lower and Middle Schools on 10th Street address additional parking required by the city, drainage issues and beautification. The expanded area includes 13 parking places, a small sitting area and newly constructed entrances with double doors. Significant landscaping is ongoing. The longer drive accommodates more cars during drop-off and pick-up times, absorbing traffic from 10th Street and North Tacoma Avenue.
  • Dormitory 4th Floor Renovation

The 4th floor of the student dormitory in the main building, originally used as student bedrooms but unused for the last several years, involved major renovations, including window replacement, new flooring, new sinks and new bathrooms. This project was completed in September 2017.
  • Lower & Middle School Art Room Enhancement

The Lower School art room is one of the few spaces in the Annie Wright building that is still being used for its original purpose. Resources raised by the 2017 Annie Wright Auction Fund-A-Need helped restore the beautiful bones of this room while updating it with modern equipment, lighting and technological capabilities.
  • New Upper School for Boys

The Upper School for Boys, opening fall 2017, will have its own academic building by the start of the 2019-20 school year. This building will be located at the corner of North Tacoma Avenue and Tennis Court Road.
  • New Gymnasium

An additional gym, connected to the current gym in the Kemper Center, will provide further space for sports and play for students of all ages. Construction is likely to begin in spring 2018.
