Planned Giving

The Heritage Society recognizes Annie Wright alumni, parents, and friends who have committed to planned giving to the school. These gifts are the cornerstone of Annie Wright’s financial success and stability, and the Annie Wright Schools community is deeply grateful to all Heritage Society members for these special expressions of loyalty and support.
Planned and deferred giving are simple ways to make a powerful impact. Members of the Annie Wright Heritage Society include those who have committed to one or more of the following deferred gifts: bequest, charitable remainder trust, charitable gift annuity, life insurance, gift of residence of farm with a retained life estate, or making Annie Wright a beneficiary of a retirement account. Some community members have also chosen to make an impact through endowed scholarships.

By joining the Heritage Society you help carry on the legacy of Annie Wright. Future generations of Annies will excel because of the careful planning and thoughtful support of you and other Heritage Society members.
If you have already included Annie Wright in your estate planning or would like information on some simple ways to do so, please contact Director of Institutional Advancement Jennifer Haley at 253.284.5411 or

Enhanced Charitable Giving Incentives

Temporary Universal Charitable Deduction
For the year 2020, taxpayers who do not itemize their deductions can take a one-time deduction of up to $300 for cash gifts made to charitable organizations. The provision is intended only for the year 2020; however, the bill does not include an end date so could conceivably extend beyond this calendar year.

No Limit on Deductions for Cash Gifts
A provision also suspends the 60 percent adjusted gross income limitation for individuals’ charitable contributions for the year 2020
. In a typical year, individuals can only take a charitable deduction of up to 60 percent of their adjusted gross income, no matter how much they give. For 2020, there is no limit, making cash contributions fully deductible.
"I want to help make it possible for the next generation and beyond to benefit from the fine academics and opportunities to form enduring friendships as I did." -Lynn (Beatty) Sealy '61
