Annual Fund FAQs

What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is a community effort to support Annie Wright’s operating budget every year.

Why should I give to the Annual Fund?
Your gift supports the people and programs that make Annie Wright Schools unique: exceptional teachers, small class sizes, current technology, IB curricula, inquiry-based learning, traditions, and so much more. In addition, donating to the Annual Fund:
  • shows you value excellent education
  • inspires teachers to dream big for their students
  • helps develop leaders who make a positive, lasting difference in the world
  • boosts participation, which encourages major donors to join you in giving
  • supports an iconic institution that strengthens our city and region
  • enhances the reputation and increases the recognition of your school

What does my gift to the Annual Fund support?
Your gift:
  • bridges the gap between tuition and the operating budget
  • supports a wide variety of programs and facilities
  • allows for both eventualities and opportunities
  • builds community and fosters connections
  • creates the opportunity to be part of something larger

If tuition income doesn’t cover expenses, why doesn’t Annie Wright just raise tuition to cover costs?
We are committed to providing an exceptional education to our families at a level of affordability that maintains the small, increasingly diverse community that makes Annie Wright a family. A gift to our Annual Fund is tax deductible, whereas tuition is not. In addition, an Annual Fund gift may qualify for a matching gift from your employer, which may allow you to double or even triple your support.

What are the Annual Giving Societies?
Every gift, no matter what the size, makes an impact on Annie Wright Schools. The Giving Societies recognize donors at every level. For just $10 per month young alumni can make a strong impact on Annie Wright and become members of the Bishop Paddock Leadership Circle, reserved for donors of $1,000 and above if they are over 30 years old. Membership includes invitations to exclusive parties and events and the opportunity to network with community leaders and philanthropists.

When should I give to the Annual Fund?
Anytime! The Annual Fund runs July 1 to June 30 each year. Annie Wright's main Annual Fund push, Giving December, runs from Giving Tuesday until December 31.

What is the difference between a gift and a pledge?

What if I don’t want to make a gift until the new year?
That’s easy. Pledge by December 31, but pay later. You’ll have until June 30 to fulfill your pledge.
