Annie Wright Schools are situated on ten acres overlooking Commencement Bay in the historic Old Town district of North Tacoma. -
Bamford Commons provide a beautiful space for outdoor play, gatherings and events. -
Klarsch Hall houses Upper School for Girls classrooms, the school dining hall and outdoor terrace. -
Traditional oak table and chairs and lots of natural light elevate lunchtime. -
Our free salad bar with vegetables, proteins and grains provides healthy and delicious options for our students. -
Students are provided ample space to take lunch outside together. -
Bike commuting is encouraged! -
From quiet reading nooks to state of the art audio/visual equipment, our two-story Library & Learning Commons is a place of inquiry, collaboration and inspiration. -
The integrated computer lab is a hub of research, coding, skills-based games and creativity. -
The Health Center is staffed full time with a registered nurse. -
Athletes of all ages and abilities exercise, play, practice and compete in our three gyms. -
Nurturing young athletes is one of many examples of opportunities to connect across divisions. -
Every Lower School student learns how to swim in our own 25-meter pool, opened in 2020. -
The indoor climbing walls provide an opportunity for all ages to develop climbing skill and strength. -
The all-weather James Memorial Field overlooking the Puget Sound was completed in 2017. -
Creativity is central to Annie Wright's mission, and beautiful spaces inspire students to create. -
The Kemper Theatre seats 350 patrons and provides a professional stage for students to hone their talent in acting, directing, technical theater and set design. -
Students of all ages enjoy acting, design and backstage opportunities to shine. -
Music practice rooms provide ample space for group and individual lessons. -
Raynor Chapel is an all-school gathering space for weekly chapel services and special events. -
Large classrooms with cozy spaces and beautiful learning toys are a hallmark of our Preschool. -
All students attend science class in one of our six science lab. -
Middle School classrooms are bright and comfortable. -
Upper School classrooms inspire inquiry and engagement. -
Skylights, open spaces and the IB Learner Profile characterize the top floor of the Upper School for Boys building. -
Upper School boys have plenty of flexible breakout spaces. -
The recently refurbished dorm rooms are spacious, bright and airy. -
The nurturing residential program provides a home away from home. -
Annie Wright's playground combines fun play structures with imaginative natural spaces and has the best view in town! -

Founded in Tacoma, Washington, in 1884, Annie Wright Schools serve students from age three through high school. Annie Wright Lower and Middle Schools offer co-ed programs in Preschool through Grade 8, while separate Upper Schools for girls and boys offer day and boarding options in Grades 9 through 12. Annie Wright is proud to be an International Baccalaureate World School.
