Lower School Enrollment Update for Fall 2021

Several Preschool-Grade 5 classes are full for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are considering mid-year enrollment, we encourage you to contact Nick Zosel-Johnson before you begin an application.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have adapted our admission process and will conduct most on-campus requirements virtually. Please register for one of our virtual events for more information.

Preschool Admission Process

    Several Preschool-Grade 5 classes are full for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are considering fall 2021 enrollment, we encourage you to contact Nick Zosel-Johnson before you begin an application.
  • 1. Submit an Inquiry Form

    Students and families interested in Annie Wright Schools may initiate the admission process by submitting an inquiry form here. Once we receive the form, a member of our admissions team will be in touch about next steps. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • 2. Attend a Preview or Schedule a Campus Tour (Optional)

    There is nothing we enjoy more than sharing our campus and classrooms with prospective families. Please check out our preview schedule. Campus tours can be scheduled via the online application checklist. Please click here to create an application account and schedule a tour.   • 3. Complete the Online Application

    We are still accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year in some grades and we have opened the application process for the 2022-2023 school year. Our online application can be found here

    • Our application deadline for the 2022-2023 school year is February 1.
    • The application includes a non-refundable $80 application fee.
    • The Teacher Recommendation Request is embedded in the online application and requires the student’s current teacher’s email address.

  • 4. Schedule a Group Play

    Applicants participate in a group play session during which we observe candidates interacting with other children and assess school readiness. Group Play happens each February. We will contact you to schedule once your student's application is complete.
Please be aware that students must be three years of age by the start of the school year to be considered for Preschool 3-4 admission. They must also be able to use the toilet independently and come to school wearing underwear.

    INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS: Annie Wright Schools offer I-20 materials to students starting in Kindergarten. Families are required to provide an official bank statement and a copy of the student's passport. 

    Boarding begins in Grade 9. Until then, international students must live with a family member or host family. 
  • 4. Schedule a Morning Class Visit & School Readiness Assessment

    An important part of the admission process is your student's class visit. Whether a student has toured or visited prior to applying, applicants spend a morning at school paired with a peer buddy. This allows applicants to get acquainted with Annie Wright Schools and serves as an important step in the admission process.
     
    Applicants to Kindergarten must also have an individual assessment to help determine developmental readiness for school. The assessment provides an opportunity to observe the applicant in several areas including language and cognitive thinking and will be part of the morning visit.

    • The Teacher Recommendation Request is included in the online application and requires the student's current teacher’s email address.

Founded in Tacoma, Washington, in 1884, Annie Wright Schools serve students from age three through high school. Annie Wright Lower  and Middle Schools offer coed programs in Preschool through Grade 8, while separate Upper Schools for girls  and boys offer day and boarding options in Grades 9 through 12.
