Girls at Annie Wright discover their passions, talents and value with the best of both worlds: an all-girls academic program with opportunities to interact, work and socialize with boys outside the classroom.
Research reveals that compared to their peers in co-ed schools, girls from all-girls academic programs perform better on academic achievement tests and report greater confidence and willingness to take risks. According to a study by UCLA’s Higher Education Research Institute, girls in all-girls academic programs:
score higher on SATs
report higher academic self-confidence, especially in math
tutor their peers more often
are more likely to talk to teachers outside of class time
At Annie Wright Upper School for Girls, students become actively involved in their own education and develop singular and strong voices that they use confidently, powerfully and persuasively throughout their lives.
Founded in Tacoma, Washington, in 1884, Annie Wright Schools serve students from age three through high school. Annie Wright Lower and Middle Schools offer coed programs in Preschool through Grade 8, while separate Upper Schools for girls and boys offer day and boarding options in Grades 9 through 12.
