Based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (
PYP), the curriculum provides a framework for inquiry-based learning that focuses on the development of the whole child, both in the classroom and in the world outside. Teachers often respond to students’ questions with further questions designed to guide that inquisitive mind to its own solution. The goal through this process is to generate independent thinkers and problem solvers. Grade 2 also focuses on community by developing and strengthening work ethic, responsibility, respect, conflict resolution and a variety of social skills. Every day is filled with choices, outcomes and opportunities for growth.
