    The Upper School for Girls Humanities and TOK teacher will:
    • Teach three sections of IB Language and Literature to 11th graders
    • Teach one section of World History to 9th graders

    • Serve as an academic advisor for a small group of students

    • Engage fully in professional responsibilities of a preschool through twelfth grade community, including attending meetings and serving on committees, as called.
    Qualifications
    The USG Humanities and TOK Teacher:
    • Holds a BA in English, or a related field;
    • Preferably, holds an MA degree;
    • Has experience teaching high school English, and ideally Theory of Knowledge, and demonstrates ability to teach multiple courses;

    • Is familiar with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme;

    • provide instruction and fulfill duties during the short-term absence of faculty; aid students in their daily tasks, help ensure their understanding of subject matter and use materials provided by absent teachers to attain lesson goals;
    • manage classroom behavior in a positive way and reach out to other faculty members for support as needed and manage classroom procedures, including taking attendance and maintaining orderly classrooms and student work, in compliance with the school’s procedures, guidelines, and policies;
    • and maintain a professional attitude in all manner of conduct with students, faculty, and parents, including a commitment to confidentiality.
    Qualifications
    Substitute teachers…
    • hold a BA in education or a related field (teaching certification is a plus);
    • are detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to follow written and oral instructions;
    • demonstrate effective and appropriate communication with students, faculty, and staff, and parents;
    • demonstrate the ability to cultivate relationships with students in a short period of time;
    • exhibit confidence and capability in providing instruction;
    • are willing and able to work while standing for most of the day, with few breaks to sit (especially for Lower School Substitute Teachers);
    • are available on short notice and on a regular basis, and respond promptly to requests for substituting;

    • Lead Teacher $150 per full day
    • Lead Teacher $80 per half day

    We are looking for a candidate who will join with enthusiasm and creativity a small but committed group of fellow teachers still in the process of creating curriculum for and building the new all boys’ upper school division at Annie Wright. The Upper School for Boys (USB) in 2020-2021 will be in its fourth year and will, for the first time, have a full complement of four classes of boys, Grades 9 – 12.
     
    Specifically, the Upper School for Math teacher will:
    • Teach four classes of mathematics at various levels, and lead an after-school activity predicated on student choice and teacher interest.  Experience and interest in computer science would be helpful
    • Collaborate with members of the science and math departments and the division as a whole as teachers and administrators continue to build and refine program and curriculum
    • Communicate effectively with parents informally as needed and formally through consistent recording of grades and comments in an electronic gradebook and in narrative reports at the quarter and semester 
    • Serve as an academic advisor for a small group of students and monitor tutorial periods as scheduled throughout the week
    • Participate actively in the life of a day/boarding independent school, including attendance at games, concerts and plays and some evening and weekend events throughout the academic year

    Qualifications

    Position Overview: duties & responsibilities
    Extended Day at Annie Wright offers programming for students in Preschool through Grade 8 before and after the regular school day and during school vacations. Extended Day includes a variety of opportunities for students in a safe and nurturing environment. On school days, Extended Day runs from 2:45-6:00 pm, and on non-school days including school breaks and summer, Extended Day runs from 7:00 am-6:00 pm. Extended Day Staff responsibilities include:
    • supervising students, tracking students’ attendance, and providing support to ED leadership and Annie Wright faculty;
    • organizing and leading activities for students, including arts & crafts and games;
    • and supporting for Extended Day leadership and other Faculty and fulfill other duties as assigned, such as supervising a study hall.

    Qualifications
    Extended Day Staff:
    • have experience working with and managing groups of students;
    • demonstrate strong communication skills, a positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work independently;
    • are consistently available during ED times, listed above (limited hours are available);
    • are eligible to work in the United States.

    Compensation
    Compensation includes an hourly wage of $12.35/hour.

    Camp Counselors will: 
    • Provide support and supervision for campers and lead a variety of activities for week-long experiences for campers.
    • Supervise campers on the playground and in other settings
    • Track campers’ attendance
    • Provide support to camp leadership and Specialty Camp Instructors
    • Lead lesson plans & activities such as arts & crafts or games. 
    • Work between 7:00 am-6:00 pm, and will commit to a minimum of 6 hours per day.
