Annie Wright Community Collects 1,140 pounds for Area Families in Need
The Great Thanksgiving Food Drive was the second competition for House Cup Points this school year. Last year we collected 55 bags of food, and this year we collected 83.
A complete competition bag contained:
1 canned vegetable 1 canned fruit or package of dried fruit 1 jar of peanut butter 1 jar of jelly or jam 1 package of mashed potatoes or rice 1 package of dried beans or peas 1 can of seafood or other meat
There were alternate lists of bag contents designed for people with food allergies or sensitivities which also counted towards the competition for House Cup Points. Some people also donated cash and groceries and items that were not on the basic list.
Ten House Cup Points were awarded during this competition. Here are the results:
BLUE HOUSE: 14% of the total (12 bags) = ONE POINT RED HOUSE: 22% of the total (18 bags) = TWO POINTS GREEN HOUSE: 28% of the total (23 bags) = THREE POINTS YELLOW HOUSE: 36% of the total (30 bags) = FOUR POINTS
