Lower School

Welcome to Lower School

Annie Wright Lower School's inquiry-based learning environment focuses on developing fundamental skills and prepares students to be inquirers, both in the classroom and the outside world.
I wish you a very warm welcome as you explore what the educational journey might look like for your child at Annie Wright Schools. The Lower School at Annie Wright is the first stop on what will hopefully be a beautiful path of lifelong learning, and establishes the foundation of what it means to be a learner, a friend and a community member. As a Primary Years Programme (PYP) student, your child will learn how to learn, to ask big questions and become a critical thinker.  They will develop a love of learning and thrive in the opportunities to play and collaborate with friends.

If you ask a student what they love about Annie Wright, they might say it is their friends or their teachers and the fun they get to have together every day. They might say it is the art class or swimming pool, or perhaps the many inquiry visits we take out into the community to stretch our learning. If you ask one of our families what they love about Annie Wright, they might say it is the community where they and their student feels welcomed and loved, where their child feels school is a home away from home. Where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. If you ask me, I will tell you that Annie Wright is a special place where kids are joyful, compassionate, kind and take their learning as serious as their play. We invite you to visit us and witness firsthand the vibrant spirit of learning and sense of belonging that make the Annie Wright Lower School so unique.
