Fall Sports Competitions Launch in All Three Divisions

Mike Finch
The fall sports season is underway. Here are some highlights from last week:

LS 2nd/3rd Grade Flag Football
lost a last-second heartbreaker 20-25 on Saturday. Ayden Lorance, Gus Guadnola, Charlie Finch, and  Cooper Dicks played very well in representing AWS, and high fives are well-deserved for these Gators on Monday.

LS 4th Grade Flag Football won on Saturday 27-20 after trailing 6-20 at halftime. Wilson Dicks threw three touchdown passes to Chancellor Gray and Miles Defebaugh ran for the fourth score. Will Carroll, Finn Howard, and Riley Dinicola secured the victory on defense in the final seconds with three amazing tackles to end the game.

Upper School Volleyball won their first match (league game) on Wednesday against Seattle Academy 3-0. The four seniors led the way (Abbey Turner, Britnie Casillas, Lauren Leeden, and Annika Cederstrand), but our younger talent stepped up, too, in Allison Fitz and Raquel Berman.

Upper School Soccer lost a nail biter 0-1 on Friday to Forest Ridge. The Gators outplayed their opponent, but just narrowly missed opportunities to score. At goal keeper, Cate Farrell saved the team on a number of occasions, blocking at least 6 shots on goals (likely far more!).

Middle School Sports begin this week with Volleyball, Boys' Soccer and Cross Country. Go gators!
