Fifth Grader Places 2nd in State Chess Tournament
Fifth grader Alec Beck played in the Washington Elementary State Chess Tournament on April 16 at the Tacoma Convention Center. Alec won 2nd place with 4.5 out of 5 points in the 5th grade section (151 players).
Alec has only lost one game since Grade 1 and now has one draw. He is also ranked in 88th place in the age 10 category in the USCF (United States Chess Federation) for the month of April.
