Middle School Boys Win American History Essay Contest

Carson McKee (Grade 7) and Ukweli Mentee Dennis (Grade 8) have been selected as Elizabeth Forey Chapter winners in the American History Essay contest entitled: "A Colonial Family's Reaction to the Stamp Act."

Both essays have been submitted to the Washington State Society of Daughters of the American Revolution for consideration as state winners in their grade level. State winners go on to NW Division Competition and Division winners go on to National Competition. A total of 40 entries from two schools were submitted from Grade 7 students. A total of 32 entries from Annie Wright were submitted by Grade 8 students.

"We are very pleased that Annie Wright students participated in the essay contest again this year," said chapter regeant Muriel Parish. "It exhibits a dedication to teaching our youth about the history of their country and we are proud to encourage that."
