Yellow Tie Violinist Aurora Hake Selected for All State Honors Performing Groups

The Washington Music Educators Association announced the results from their October auditions for the 2015-16 All State Honors Performing Groups. Yellow Tie violinist Aurora Hake was named as a member of the All State Chamber Orchestra, the top ensemble for string players, and will perform with the group at the Annual WMEA conference during President's Day Weekend in 2016. The audition process was via recording and each player was required to performed specified excerpts from the standard orchestral literature and a short section of a personally chosen solo. This year, Aurora played from the Mendelssohn violin concerto as her solo piece. Counting the Middle School Honors orchestra program for 7th and 8th graders, this is the fifth consecutive year that Aurora has made it into this prestigious event. Congratulations, Aurora!
