Annie Wright Shines in State Destination Imagination Tournament

Eighty-five qualifying teams gathered at Eastmont Junior High in East Wenatchee the weekend of March 28 for the Washington State D.I. Team Creative Problem Solving Tournament. Two AWS teams qualified at the Rainier Regional to participate in this tournament. 
 
The Middle School "Feary Tales" team, Awesome Armadillos (Team Manager: Carey Rockey), placed 2nd in the Middle Level Fine Arts Challenge and received the Renaissance Award for Engineering and Performance, as well as First Place in the Instant Challenge competition. The Elementary "Creature Feature" team, Turnip Turtles (Team Manager: Shannon Leenstra), placed 6th in the Elementary Technical Challenge.

Independent team the SeaGirls (Team Managers Corinne Collie & Kristin Hall) with team roster members from multiple schools placed Second in Elementary Level "Feary Tales" Fine Arts Challenge and received the Renaissance Award. Kate Collie and Caroline Hall participate on this team. 
 
The teams, team managers and parents did a fantastic job of representing our school and the Rainier Region at this event. Anna Minor Weeks and Paul Weeks volunteered as officials in Feary Tales and Instant Challenge, and Jean Young worked with the score room team.
